These beautiful Stained Glass Butterflies were made by using one of our favorite art techniques- crayon resist and watercolor. They are so bright and cheerful, and were loads of fun to make. Butterflies are a perfect craft for a preschool theme about spring, insects, or to go along with some amazing butterfly books! These particular butterflies were inspired by the Eric Carle book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It's been a favorite in our home for many years, and my girls were thrilled to make a version of the beautiful butterfly who emerges from the chrysalis at the end of the story.
